| HeadlineHawk is a server-based
RSS system that accepts commands and returns results via e-mail
commands. Scheduling services and BlackBerry
user interfaces are provided.
Benefits:
HeadlineHawk is a far faster
method of keeping
up-to-date on news headlines than wireless web browsing.
Links in the HeadlineHawk feeds enable a person to launch their
BlackBerry browser directly to a story of interest when he or
she wants to read the entire article, without having to slowly
wade through a number of pages and ads on a mobile website.
HeadlineHawk brings the best of BlackBerry "push" technology to
the news brief problem.
The Core Server Engine:
HeadlineHawk's servers query
any RSS news feed source, retrieve the information, reformat the
data into a text e-mail, and push it via e-mail to the
BlackBerry.
Server Scheduling System:
HeadlineHawk's servers have a
scheduling system that enables the timed delivery of news briefs
to a BlackBerry professional's specification.
BlackBerry User Interface
Methods:
HeadlineHawk can be used with
or without software installed on the BlackBerry smartphone.
(1)
HeadlineHawk Pro is a
BlackBerry-resident user interface application, which lets a
person scroll and click their way into requesting
pre-configured popular news feeds, creating personal
favorites, setting up delivery schedules, and adding custom
feeds if he or she wants to. HawkPro issues the commands
to the servers via e-mail, taking all complexity out of the
equation for the BlackBerry user.
(2)
HeadlineHawk Classic
offers a e-mail commands interface directly to the user.
Classic is a bit harder to use, but has greater depth with
nearly 10X the pre-configured newsfeeds and the benefit of no
software installed on the BlackBerry smartphone, a great
feature from people living in ultra-locked-down security
administration environments.
Please note that a HawkPro user
can issue Classic short commands, enabling full Classic "depth"
in Pro.
A working understand of Classic is required.
Today, 87% of users opt for the
HawkPro interface while 13% use the Classic version. |
